Tips
Your
very first paragraph should "hook" the reader. The
"hook" should indicate that there's something interesting
about you or about what you have to say which separates you
from other applicants.
Your Term Paper must convey confidence (i.e., neither displaying
self doubt nor arrogance). Your confidence will be more readily
accepted if you have details to back up what you're saying.
SHOW, DON'T TELL!.
When describing details, use words which make them interesting
(help the reader to envision what you're describing).
Order is important when listing elements. Build up from the
smallest, most mundane element to the biggest, boldest, or
most shocking element.
When possible, end sentences with words which are strong.
Pay close attention to your method of transition between fact
and idea.
Try to find unique ways to convey ideas. Again, "SHOW,
DON'T TELL!"
Avoid using clichés.
